Professor Mohamed Khadra, IOTA President, visits Kenya.

July 2007

Professor Mohamed Khadra, President of IOTA, visited a number of study support centres in Kenya last week. Professor Khadra said 'I was so impressed with the quality of the students and the facilities in a number of different sites.'

One of the highlights of the trip was the launch by Professor Khadra of a new study support centre operated by Graduates of IOTA. His Lordship Ali Mwenzi MIB (IOTA) and Mr. David Sonoiya MBA (IOTA) have created a wonderful facility that will cater to students in Nairobi. 'This is so much in keeping with our mission of producing graduates who are entrepreneurial, active and seeking to better their country through investment and effort' said Professor Khadra.

Pictured right is Professor Khadra with David Sonoiya, Ali Mwenzi and Washington Nzuve (Academic Director for the new centre).

Professor Khadra also met with many of IOTA's students in Kenya to discuss the program and gain valuable feedback from both students and facilitators, pictured (2).

Also pictured (3) are Mary Mwanki and Mr. John Nyagah CEO of Wiseman Trainers in Nairobi. Wiseman Trainers hosts a number of IOTA students and is a major force in higher education in Nairobi. Mr. Nyagah shared his plans and vision for expansion and was reassured by Professor Khadra of his support and encouragement.

'One of my endearing memories of my trip was meeting Jane Macharia. She is the first student ever to have registered with IOTA and I felt it was a real honour to meet with her' said Professor Khadra. Here is a picture (4) of Jane and the Professor with David Sonoiya outside the Ministry of Education, Nairobi.
